How it works它怎么处理
Images to PDF on StayFile turns JPEG, PNG, and WebP pictures into one PDF, one image per page. The download is named stayfile-images.pdf. It is a free page from Haimc (海明创), with no account and no upload. Put the list in the order you want, top to bottom, choose A4, Letter, or Fit image, and build. pdf-lib writes the PDF in this tab. Several photos are not collaged onto one sheet. A PDF you already have belongs in Merge or Split, not here.

The page checks the file bytes, not only the extension. JPEG, PNG, and WebP are accepted. HEIC, GIF, BMP, TIFF, SVG, and PDF are refused, even if the name ends in .jpg. A phone can pick pictures from the camera roll when the browser offers a JPEG, PNG, or WebP. An iPhone photo that is still HEIC is refused. Export a JPEG from the photos app and add that file. The original on the phone is untouched, because this page never receives it. Up to 40 images in one run, and each file must be 80 MB or smaller. An empty file is refused. Extra images past 40 are not added.
页面检查的是文件字节，不只是扩展名。接受 JPEG、PNG 和 WebP。HEIC、GIF、BMP、TIFF、SVG 和 PDF 会被拒绝，即使文件名以 .jpg 结尾也一样。当浏览器能提供 JPEG、PNG 或 WebP 时，手机可以从相册里选图。仍是 HEIC 的 iPhone 照片会被拒绝。请先在照片应用里导出 JPEG，再添加那个文件。手机里的原件不会被改动，因为这个页面根本收不到它。一次最多 40 张，每个文件不超过 80 MB。空文件会被拒绝。超过 40 张的部分不会被加进来。
PNG is embedded as PNG, so a transparent mark stays transparent, and the PNG’s own bytes, including any metadata stored inside them, are what go into the page. JPEG and WebP are drawn through the browser first, onto a white canvas, then saved as JPEG at quality 0.92. That redraw asks the browser to apply the photo’s stored rotation, so a phone picture that stored a rotation usually stands upright. WebP cannot be stored as WebP in the PDF this tool writes, so it becomes JPEG, and any transparency is flattened onto white. The camera’s EXIF, including location, is not written into that JPEG. This is not a cleaner for the original file on disk. The original still has whatever the camera wrote.

A4 is selected when you open the page. A4 is about 595 by 842 points, and Letter is 612 by 792 points. On both, the picture is scaled uniformly inside a 36-point margin, half an inch, and centered. Nothing is cropped, and nothing is stretched out of proportion. If the photo is wider than it is tall, that page is landscape. A square photo stays portrait. Fit image drops the margin and makes the page match the picture at about 150 pixels per inch. The long edge of a fitted page is capped at 20 inches (1440 points), so a huge photo is scaled down instead of becoming an enormous page. There is no crop tool and no rotate button. If a JPEG is still sideways after the redraw, it did not carry rotation data. Export an upright JPEG and add that.

Do not use this tool for a contact sheet, a two-up handout, or a collage. Make that sheet in a photo app and add the sheet as a single image. Do not use it to pull pictures back out of a PDF, to merge existing PDFs, or to compress a PDF you already have. HEIC, GIF, and other formats stay refused. Reordering is the up and down buttons, not drag-and-drop. Thumbnails are local previews in this tab. Clear the list, or close the tab, and those previews go with it. A phone can build the PDF. Forty large photos can still run out of memory on that phone.
不要用这个工具做联系表、一页两张的讲义，或拼图。请先在照片应用里做好那一张，再把它作为单张图片加进来。不要用它从 PDF 里把图片抽出来，不要用它合并已有的 PDF，也不要用它压缩你已经有的 PDF。HEIC、GIF 和其他格式仍然会被拒绝。排序用的是上移和下移，不是拖拽。缩略图是这个标签页里的本地预览。清空列表，或关掉标签页，这些预览就一起丢掉。手机可以生成这份 PDF。四十张很大的照片，在那部手机上仍可能把内存用完。
Example例子
Four portrait photos of a signed form, and one landscape photo of a whiteboard, all JPEG from a phone. Choose A4, which is already selected. Move the whiteboard to the top if the meeting should be read first. You get five pages in stayfile-images.pdf. The form photos are portrait A4. The whiteboard page is landscape A4. Each picture sits inside a half-inch margin, centered, with nothing cropped. A sideways JPEG that carried rotation data stands upright. The photos in the camera roll are not modified, and they are not uploaded.

A designer has a PNG logo with a transparent background and three product photos in WebP. The logo stays PNG, so the transparency survives on its page. The WebP photos are redrawn as JPEG on white, so a translucent edge becomes white, not clear. Choose Letter for a US printer. Wide product shots become landscape Letter pages. The square logo stays a portrait Letter page. Location data from the WebP files is not copied into the PDF. The PNG is embedded as itself, so do not treat this page as a tool that strips the originals.

An assignment asks for one PDF of eight homework photos. Two of them are still HEIC from an iPhone, and one is a GIF of a diagram. The HEIC rows and the GIF row error, and the Build button stays off until you remove them. Export JPEG copies of the HEIC shots, and export the diagram as PNG if the transparency matters or as JPEG if it does not. Add those files. Forty is the ceiling, so eight is fine. Fit image is the wrong choice if the teacher asked for A4. Leave A4 selected so every page is the same paper, with a margin, instead of eight differently sized pages.

Disclaimer说明
StayFile does not check that you have the right to use the pictures. JPEG and WebP are redrawn in the browser, so the embedded image is not a byte-for-byte copy, transparency becomes white, and EXIF such as location is not written into the PDF. That is not a promise that the original photo on disk was scrubbed. PNG is embedded, transparency included, metadata chunks and all. HEIC, GIF, BMP, TIFF, SVG, and PDF are not accepted. The originals you picked are not modified.

One image becomes one page. There is no collage, no crop, and no rotate button. A4 and Letter use a 36-point margin and do not crop. Fit image has no margin and caps the long edge at 20 inches. One run accepts 40 images, 80 MB each. A phone can build the file, but a long list of large photos can exhaust it. Closing the tab discards the previews and the in-memory PDF. It does not delete a download you already saved.

Which image formats work?支持哪些图片格式？
JPEG, PNG, and WebP, checked from the file bytes. HEIC, GIF, BMP, TIFF, SVG, and PDF are refused, even when the file name looks like a JPEG. A PDF belongs in Merge, Split, or Compress. Export HEIC to JPEG in the photos app before you add it.

Are the photos uploaded?照片会被上传吗？
No. Thumbnails are local previews in this tab, made from the files you picked. Building the PDF does not call an API. pdf-lib runs in the page, and the browser saves stayfile-images.pdf. Clear or close the tab and the previews in memory are discarded. The download you saved stays where the browser put it.
不会。缩略图是这个标签页里的本地预览，来自你选中的文件。生成 PDF 不会调用接口。pdf-lib 在页面里运行，浏览器把文件存成 stayfile-images.pdf。清空或关掉标签页，内存里的预览就被丢掉。你已经保存的下载，仍在浏览器存放它的地方。
Can I put two images on one page?一页能放两张图吗？
Not in this version. One image, one page. There is no contact sheet, no two-up, and no collage. If you need several pictures on one sheet, make that sheet in a photo app and add the sheet as a single image. To combine PDFs you already have, use Merge.
这一版不行。一张图，一页。没有联系表，没有一页两张，也没有拼图。如果需要好几张图在同一页上，请先在照片应用里做好，再把那一张图加进来。已经有的 PDF 要合在一起，请用合并。
Does location data stay in the PDF?位置信息会留在 PDF 里吗？
StayFile does not copy EXIF into the PDF for JPEG and WebP. Those files are redrawn, which drops location and other camera data from the embedded image. PNG bytes are embedded as themselves, so metadata stored inside the PNG stays inside that embedded image. Do not treat this as a metadata cleaner for the original file on disk. The original is not modified.

How many images, and what is the margin?能放多少张，页边是多少？
40 images in one run, and each file must be 80 MB or smaller. A4 and Letter use a 36-point margin, half an inch. The picture is scaled to fit inside that margin and centered, not cropped. Fit image has no margin: the picture is the page, at about 150 pixels per inch, with the long edge capped at 20 inches.

Why did a phone photo stay sideways, or turn into JPEG?为什么手机照片还是横的，或者变成了 JPEG？
JPEG and WebP are redrawn so the browser can apply stored rotation, and that redraw is saved as JPEG at quality 0.92. A photo that is still sideways did not carry rotation data. Export an upright JPEG and add that file. There is no rotate button here. WebP always becomes JPEG, and its transparent pixels are painted white. PNG is not redrawn, so it stays PNG.

Which page size should I pick?该选哪种页面大小？
A4 is selected when the page opens. Use it when the packet should be A4 paper. Letter is the US paper size, 612 by 792 points. On both, a wide picture becomes a landscape page and a square stays portrait. Fit image makes each page the shape of that picture, which is useful for a full-bleed photo and awkward when someone asked for one paper size. Nothing is cropped in any of the three.
打开页面时选中的是 A4。材料需要 A4 纸时就用它。Letter 是美国纸张，612 乘 792 点。这两种尺寸下，较宽的图片会变成横向页面，正方形仍是纵向。贴合图片会让每一页跟着那张图的形状走，适合满版照片；如果对方要求同一种纸，就不合适。三种做法都不会裁切画面。

It is free, with no account, in the phone’s browser or on a computer. Nothing is uploaded. Use the file picker, then the up and down buttons to set the order. HEIC from an iPhone camera roll is refused until you export a JPEG. Forty large photos can exhaust a phone’s memory. StayFile does not install an app and does not edit the pictures in your camera roll.
